We had a rental car for 7 days, no school, and plenty of sunshine. What's around us?
Looking across the long stretch of beach and high density housing in our hood.

Going to the beach is one of our
favorite activities. The water is beautiful
but a little chilly.

The pool has been a near daily respite.

Fountains. Very popular here.
. . . Also grilled octopus.

We take the local train everywhere. A view from
our daily walk to the station just a couple blocks
away. It's that brown/gray steel geometric
in the town square.

Waiting for the train with the boys.

Our day trip to Tarifa and Gibraltar
There's this cool place on the very southern tip of Spain called Tarifa. Other than being quite the storied and strategic location for millennia, it's got a nice view of the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and where it meets the Mediterranean Sea on the other.

That's Morocco, Africa in the distance. We spent the afternoon at this "first" beach of the Mediterranean. It was frigid, but lots to explore.

Rock of Gibraltar. Lots of customs stuff
going on around here. Apparently it's
still owned by Britian.

Stopped for dinner at an open beach
restaurant (chirinquito) in Estepona on the way home. "Go play on the beach
and come back in 15 minutes when the food is ready"
